Peter Turner

Following the May Elections I would wish to build on the excellent relationship which has developed with my fellow ward councillors and our local MP over the past four years and continue to provide help, guidance and support to the residents of Mid-Holderness.

As a Member of the Humberside Fire Authority, Chairman of the Holderness Local Action Team, a member of the Eastern Area Planning Committee and a member of two local drainage boards, I have been able to well represent the interests and aspirations of the ward and help to address the fears and concerns of the local people.

I am also the Chairman of HOTI which has, over the last five years fought a successful campaign against the construction of a mass burn incinerator at Saltend.

As Chairman of the Beverley and Holderness Conservative Association my political credentials are well known as is my loyalty to the party.

I have lived for virtually all of my life in Holderness, in Burstwick for 32 years, and I am immensely proud of the area and keen to promote and protect its best interests.

I am a supporter of localism and believe that, as with HOTI, the voice of the people should be heard and heeded on matters which affect their lives.

I believe reality, isolation, and sparse population will continue to create problems as will increases in the cost of road fuels and possible reductions in public transport and a lack of local job opportunities. These issues will be my priorities for the future.

I believe Mid Holderness is a wonderful area which provides a healthy, safe environment in which to live and it is my greatest desire it will remain so and I will do all in my power to ensure that is the case.

I trust that since 2007 I have shown my credentials as one of the three East Riding of Yorkshire councillors who represent the Mid-Holderness Ward and assure you that if I am re-elected in May I will continue to represent you to the very best of my ability.
