Graham Stuart MP
A personal message from Graham
I'm enjoying being in Parliament and am immensely proud to represent Beverley and Holderness. I promised to work hard when I was elected as your MP and I have taken up literally hundreds of issues on behalf of local people. Please let me know how you think I'm doing (good or bad) and together we can improve local services and create a better society for everyone.
I have informal surgeries nearly every week and welcome calls, faxes, letters and emails. Come and say hello at my weekly street surgeries or write to me, Graham Stuart MP, at the House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA. You can also sign up to my e-news which will allow you to keep up to date with all the local campaigns I'm involved in and, most importantly, let me know your views. If you wish to join the mailing list, or to catch up with the latest views, keep visiting my website at www.grahamstuart.com
Regards,
Graham

Graham Stuart Biography

Graham has been involved in politics since he was a student, campaigning at the 1983 election and becoming Chairman of the Cambridge University Conservative Association in 1985. He has held various positions within the Conservative Party from constituency treasurer to Area Chairman for two counties.

He has previously served as a local councillor. He believes in pavement politics, making sure that politicians both listen to and communicate with local people on local concerns. As Chairman of Governors of a failing school he helped turn it round from one in special measures to a recognised success. He has been a director of a mental health charity, President of the Watercraft Federation and Group Leader of the Conservatives on Cambridge City Council.

He was elected as Member of Parliament in May 2005. Since then he has set up CHANT (Community Hospitals Acting Nationally Together), which campaigns to put an end to the cutbacks and closures currently affecting community hospitals, and the Beverley and Holderness Pensioners Action Group.

He is also Chairman of the East Riding Health Action Group.
